Um Poço Fitando o Céu (A Well Staring at the Sky) 2022 A variation on “The Love of a Shade and the Jealousy of an Aura”. This piece is larger, installed outdoors, and its base is made in copper instead of steel, slowing the oxidation process of the piece. While iron creates orange when oxidised, copper turns green / blue depending on its composition. The title is a fragment from Fernando Pessoa’s poem Litania (Litany). “Nós nunca nos realizamos. Somos dois abismos—um poço fitando o Céu.” (We never know self-realisation. We are two abysses—a well staring at the sky.)
